I was an independent blogger. It’s still clear in my memory that I start to write a blog when I’m a university student. With a web server rent from Taobao, about 12 CNY (similar to 2 USD) per month. I have written a lot of things on that blog, but because I didn’t pay the fees for the webserver, my blog website shut down after my graduation. I think I still have some backup of my articles, but with not willing to recover them.
Independent blog is interesting, not only write a blog but also browse blogs I can reach on the Internet. There are a lot of independent blogs on the Internet. Just a little difficult to find them. They may be indexed by Google or Bing, etc. And you could find them by wordpress.org because a lot of them build on top of WordPress. They are a lot of articles on different topics and fields on these independent blogs; Including lifestyle, craft, travel, relationship, etc.
WordPress.org provides hosts, you could just build your blog on wordpress.org, it’s not free, and not costly. Alternatively, you could choose standalone host providers just like me. I rent a webserver on Hostgator, and a domain name(not nessassery) on Namecheap. My fee is about 500 CNY (about 100 USD) per year, much more than the one I used to have from Taobao. With more performance and network bandwidth. I find my blog could be searched on google, but I don’t remember when I submit my website to Google, it’s weird.
Sometimes when I arrive at my office, I didn’t like to start work immediately, then I could read some blogs or write some blogs. Some independent blogs founded on the Internet are listed below. You could enjoy it. I’m reading several of them.
